The gentleman being interviewed in this video clip (from Wharton Business School's Knowledge@Wharton series) was featured on NPR yesterday. He was discussing his book and research on "givers, takers, and matchers." Really, really fascinating stuff that I'll be thinking about for a long time.
If you get a moment, check this out.
Take home point: Givers win more than takers and givers have bigger networks than matchers so tend to win more. Nice.

Happy Monday.
Take the test to see what you are here.
From the deck of the Poop,
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely powerful, I am ordering the book right now! Thanks Dr. KD
PoopDeck
Cool, Poopdeck! I'll borrow it when you finish. Ha!
DeleteThanks for sharing. I posted the video link on my FB page and plugged your blog. :-) Also took the test on his page and came up with Strong Giver (+50%), then a Matcher and a distant Taker (<20%).
ReplyDeleteThanks, D-Nice! My results were pretty much identical to yours! Some questions I knew the "giver" response but had to be honest. Sometimes I think it's smarter to match.
DeleteThe one with the boss's boss? That would be like me blowing off my Department Chair or Dean. I wouldn't tell my Dean no, I'm sorry. Ha ha ha.
whi..where is the test?
ReplyDeleteMy bad! I posted it.
